Mahtaj Nojoomi ( مهتاج نجومي ) was born in Tehran and graduated from the Advanced School of TV and Cinema in directing. She began stage acting in 1965 in the late Shahin Serkisian's theater troupe. She began TV directing in 1975 and later took on acting as well. She made her film debut in 1969 with a short role in The Cow.
