About Love Stricken
During the reign of Ahmad Shah Qajar, an European merchant intends to record Persian classical Radifs (musical orders), which are on the verge of forgetting, under the pretext of promoting Eastern culture and art. Thus he is going to preserve them for a long time to come. So, Agha-Hossein Delnavaz is asked to select a group of best instrumentalists. The plan of traveling to Europe is impeded due to some problems; however, Maestro Delnavaz is determined and makes it happen. In Europe, the voice of the singer of the group, Taher-Khan, heals Leyla. She is of the Ottoman Ambassador's nephwes and lives near the garden of the group's boardinghouse. Due to the cold and hurtful weather of Europe, Taher-Khan, being physically weak, is afflicted by pneumonia. By the end of recording, the group encounters financial problems. To compensate for that, they inevitably hold a concert. Taher, while being sick, puts all of his spirit into his voice... On the way back to Iran, by the beginning of the WWI, the group's ship is shot by mistake. Thereby, the passengers' fittings are thrown into the water, and the box, containing the recorded discs, is floated on the waves.
