Born in 1976, Ayat Najafi ( آیت نجفی ) is an Iranian director, writer, producer and actor based in Germany. Najafi studied scenography in Tehran. He wrote and directed Lady of Tehran (2009) and Rasht-City of Women (2011) both premiered at Berlin. His first feature documentary Football Under Cover premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2008, winning the Teddy Award for Best Documentary.
