After enduring the difficulties of a long marriage, Reza and Zari are on the brink of separation. A factory worker, Reza is unable to come up with the money to return Zari's dowry, so instead formulates a plan. Remembering a colleague who was awarded compensation after losing his finger in an industrial accident, Reza finds himself presented with an enticing, though by no means painless, opportunity for financial gain.
