The Buried is about that Childish imagination is contrasted with real-world devastation caused by warfare in this affecting short film. A young boy playfully imitates an aircraft on a sunny, cloud-free day, running through a grove of trees and approaching a stretch of water. Here a war-plane flies directly overhead casting a reflection in the glimmering water ahead, which the boy scoops up with a discarded military helmet. This film effectively questions whether this boy’s generation will be able to bury war, rather than bury more of the war-dead.
