A cynical view of fame and film festivals, Red Carpet is director Reza Attaran's second feature film. He stars as a stage-struck, third-rate Iranian actor and playwright, with high hopes of becoming a professional actor, arrives in Cannes, France. His goal - to meet Steven Spielberg and ask for assistance in his quest for fame. However, in this tragicomedy, the reality doesn't quite match up to his expectations. As we follow Reza's progress, from buying Iranian gifts for the object of his admiration, to learning how to tie a bow tie properly, we cheer him on in his quest with relish.
