'Mosaferane Koochak Safari Bi Enteha' (1998) is a short documentary about the young members of the migratory Bakhtiari tribe, as they care for their herds in a beautiful mountainous region. A camera crew joins the group as they herd hundreds of cattle under the cover of darkness to their new destination. Save the clatter of bells and footfalls, the group move in almost eerie silence. Handheld camerawork lends the film a sense of realism and immediacy, and we share the Bakhtiari's journey. A film that provides fascinating insight into traditional culture.
