A young Khorasan shepherd and his family's lives are changed irrevocably in this classic war drama. When American forces blow up nuclear waste buried in the tiny village, the shepherd's flock drop down dead one by one, while the shepherd himself contracts a mysterious disease. Terrified of contagion, the other villagers cast the family out, including the shepherd’s brother Abdollah, who does his best to help find assistance in Tehran. A moving commentary on how the blameless often become the victims in war.
