A photographer (Nezam Manouchehri) and his wife (Leila Hatami) are making the long journey from Mashad to Tehran when their car breaks down miles from their destination. Appealing to a local village for help, the couple there encounter a teacher, Feizollah (Mehran Rajabi), overseeing a small group of scrappy children. While the men try to fix the car, the wife is left to care for the children and confront her own fears of parenthood. Over the course of a day, the experiences this childless couple share will change their outlook on life forever. Hatami's compelling performance won her the Best Actress award at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2002.
