Mashhadi-Nosrat and Yadollah are two switchmen, working in the guard chamber of the railroad. Every day, they witness the trains transferring volunteer to the front lines. Nosrat has the intention of being sent to the front lines. But, their chief opposes sending him to the war. Meanwhile, Yadollah and Nosrat are constantly debating their lifestyles. Finally, Nosrat is able to gain his boss's agreement and he sets off for the front line. Also, throughout his endeavors, Nosrat has influenced Yadollah.

"مشهدی نصرت " و "یدالله" دو سوزنبان روزانه در اتاقک نگهبانی راه آهن، شاهد عبور ترن هایی هستند که نیروهای داوطلب را به جبهه ها می رساند . نصرت مایلست به جبهه اعزام شود. ولی رئیس قسمت مربوطه ، مخالف عزیمت او به جنگ است. در این حال یدالله نیز با نصرت دائما به خاطر رویه ای که پیش گرفته است، بحث دارد. سرانجام نصرت موفق به جلب نظر روسای خود شده و راهی جبهه می شود، درحالی که در این مدت یدالله را نیز متحول ساخته است.
