Pirooz Kalantari's documentary is a stylised portrait of 24 year old actress and student Benhaz Jafari, combining fly-on-the-wall observations with artistically shot moments of self-reflection. As Benhaz talks to friends, goes to acting auditions, and muses on her life, the film creates a moving image of a young woman who lost her parents at an early age and aspires to a carefree life just beyond her reach. Caught between acting, completing her dissertation on misogyny, and the pressure to marry, Benhaz's mood fluctuates between hope for the future and disappointment in this compelling narrative of her life.
