'Seven Acts' gets its name from its somewhat episodic nature – the storyline is broken into segments, each representing a different emotion. The film focuses on four young men who face financial difficulties. When they feel they have no choice but to rob a grocery store to make ends meet, they must resign themselves to life on the run. The film’s fragmented approach forms a mosaic in which we come to learn more about each of the troubled thieves.
