Oji has recently married her cousin Iliad and now hopes to leave her home city behind and start a new life with him in Tehran. But when her father suddenly dies, Oji takes a job in the local post office in order to support her young family. One day some missing cash from the post office turns up in Oji's bag and she is accused of theft. Distraught at the recent turn of events in her life, Oji walks back along the railway line, and in doing so gets hit by a train and loses one of her legs. Angry and grief-stricken, her husband Iliad decides to work with local officer Ebrahim to investigate the theft at the post office and track down the real culprit. The dark and at times gritty cinematography, coupled with a haunting soundtrack, lends an air of pain and mourning to proceedings in this powerful and gut-wrenching drama.
