Directed by Mostafa Razagh Karimi, this documentary follows injured patients from the Iran-Iraq war that were sent to Vienna for treatment and recovery. Using war footage and images of casualties to dramatize personal accounts, the stories of wounded soldiers and medical staff reveal the aftermath of war in all its explicit horror. A special emphasis on the chemical weapons attack on Halabja, and the impossibility of describing its immense destruction to human life, gives the film a unique and powerful edge which leaves no doubt about the senselessness of war.
