Director Shahram Mirseraji pays tribute to researcher, writer and Oud player Mansour Namiran (1935 - 2015), the Father of Iranian Oud. The feature length documentary uncovers Namiran's life and passion for the pear-shaped stringed instrument. Eskandar Ebrahimi Zanjani known as Mansour Nariman was born in Mashhad in a family who loved music. Nariman's father played the Tar, Ney and Setar. In 1962 he began to instruct in Tehran conservatory and trained many musicians of later generations of Persian music. The father of Modern Oud has also written several books on the Oud as well. Mirseraji's 2016 documentary film features big-name artists of the Iranian music scene like Ney player Hassan Nahid and Oud players Mohammad Firouzi, Hossein Behroozinia, Ali Pajooheshgar, Negar Bouban, and Majid Nazempour.
