Robert Safarian's documentary is an in-depth reflection on the life and works of Iranian-Armenian poet Azad Matian. In 1946, when he was four, Matian's father planned to emigrate to Armenia as part of the repatriation program planned by Soviet Armenia. However, the plan was cancelled and Azad stayed in Iran. Examining his life as he plans another emigration – this time to the United States – the theme of moving to new lands and new cultures provides a thought-provoking backdrop for this portrait of a fascinating creative talent.
