'For a Fistful of Rubles' is based on Neil Simon's 1973 play 'The Good Doctor', which was, in turn, informed by the short stories of Anton Chekhov. The story centers around an unnamed writer, likely inspired by Chekhov himself, struggling to overcome writer’s block. As the story unfolds we see that the main issue holding him back from writing freely is his own difficult, artistic temperament. Featuring a play within a play, 'For a Fistful of Rubles' is a self-reflective piece and an impressive, Iranian reinterpretation of Simon's classic.
