In part poetic, in part political, Bahram Beizai's Death of Yazdgerd tells the tale of a king at a time of war. King Yazdgerd's body is discovered in a decaying building in a desert in Iran. The cause of death is a mystery and the question is who killed the king. The king's wife and daughter are accused of the crime and offer their story in an attempt to escape torture and death.
