سریال ذهن زیبا اقتباسی آزاد از زندگی دکتر حسین بهاروند، محقق برجستهی ایرانی در حوزهی زیستشناسی است که چالشهای علمی و ذهنی او را به تصویر میکشد. دکتر حسین بهاروند متولد سال 1350 در شهر اصفهان است که در سال 1383 از دانشگاه خوارزمی مدرک دکترای زیستشناسی تکوینی را دریافت کرده است. این محقق پژوهشگاه رویان در سال 1382 برای اولین بار سلولهای بنیادی جنینی انسانی و موشی را در ایران تولید کرد و در سال 1387 به همراه همکارانش موفق به تولید سلولهای بنیادی پرتوان القائی انسانی و موشی شد. این سریال نگاهی عمیق به زندگی این فرد دارد که سالها به علم و تحقیق در زمینهی زیستشناسی پرداخته، اما در کنار موفقیتهای علمیاش با مشکلات و پیچیدگیهای ذهنی دست و پنجه نرم میکند.
