Ghiyasuddin Jamshid Kashani, a famous mathematician and astronomer, along with Muin al-Din Kashani, his longtime friend and colleague, travels to Samarqand due to the invitation of its ruler, Ulugh Beg. They are about to build a huge observatory there. The ... Observatory is being successfully set up, but the envious people try to slander and confuse the ruler's opinion towards them. The discovery and calculation of the ratio of the perimeter of a circle to its diameter (the pi number) and the sinus of a degree by Ghiyasuddin Jamshid Kashani, which is an important scientific treasure, provokes the enemies. They try to attribute this discovery to themselves. Finally, they cause Ghiyasuddin's death and convey the guilt of murder to Muin al-Din. Muin al-Din, who is keeping Ghiyasuddin's discovery treatise, escapes to Herat in order to reveal the truth and also present the treatise.
