The Lake that Was is about that Oroomieh Lake, with a circumference of more than 400 kilometers, is located in the Northwest of Iran. Its beauty is so captivating that it used to attract droves of Iranian and foreign tourists. Now a shadow of its former self due to lack of rainfall, several wells and underground water resources, along with a number of dam constructions are causing concern. Oroomieh Lake will soon dry up. Director Pejman Mazaheripoo skillfully narrates the lake's history, when people carelessly enjoyed it at their leisure, ignoring the consequences of its demise.
