Something Like Me is about that A 26-year-old filmmaker Mona Zahed ventures to Afghanistan on a journey to experience and witness a dangerous environment of war. The documentary starts by Mona looking at footage from the Iran-Iraq war on its anniversary in 2001, briefly explaining the purpose of this documentary. As Mona and her crew cross the border into Afghanistan, she begins a journey of discovery and knowledge. Throughout the journey, Mona manages to conduct a series of interviews from the Taliban to the citizens of Afghanistan. What makes this film interesting is Mona's courageous attitude, as she is unafraid to ask controversial questions and confront anyone in her way to acquire the answers she seeks.
