A Man for All Seasons is about that Based on Robert Bolt's original play, this clever adaptation focuses on the life of 16th Century Chancellor of England Sir Thomas More. His refusal to grant King Henry VIII a divorce from Catherine of Aragon on the grounds that she did not bear him a son becomes the central dilemma in this riveting play. The king's wish to marry Anne Boleyn, the sister of his former mistress, adds further fuel to the fire. More is seen here as a righteous man, envied by rivals such as Thomas Cromwell and loved by the common man. Reza Kianian's sympathetic and engrossing portrayal of More, under the direction of Bahman Farmanara, proves to be the play's greatest draw.
