Shabnam Tolouei ( شبنم طلوعی ) is an Iranian actress, theatre director, and playwright. She has studied in the field of filmmaking in Tehran, at Bagh-Ferdos Film & Culture School and has been acting on stage since 1993. She won Best Actress twice in the 14th and 22nd International Fajr International Theatre Festival in Iran (1996 and 2004). Some of her most recent film appearances include roles in The Day I Became a Woman (2000), A House Built on Water (2003) and Goli Baraye Maryam (200 ...4), but she is mostly known for her starring role as Munis in the 2009 Venice Festival Silver Lion award-winning Iranian film Women Without Men (2009) by Shirin Neshat. Shabnam Tolouei also played in Sepideh Farsi feature film Red Rose (2014) nominated for the Best Feature award at Chicago International Film festival 2014. She also played in a series called No Comment by Mehdi Mazloomi and another one titled Neyestan (Land of Reeds) by Mohammad Mokhtari.
