Deep Blue is about that This surreal and transcendent short film from director Marjan Ashrafizadeh exposes the lasting effects of war. Opening with the festivities of a wedding party, a pair of newly-weds drift from the shore, waving happily to their friends and relatives. However, there is an instant dilemma when the bride loses her ring in the murky water. Diving in to recover this precious item, the man searches the riverbed only to find himself grasping something else entirely. Ending with a sombre shot of the elusive wedding ring, 'Deep Blue' hits home a powerful message in its short run-time.
