Golab Adineh (گلاب آدینه) was born on 12 November 1954 in Tehran. She is an Iranian actress, daughter of the novelist Hosseingholi Mosta'an, and is married to the actor Mehdi Hashemi. Born Golab Mosta'an, Golab Adineh holds a degree in Political Economics from Iran's Shahid Beheshti University. She began theater acting in 1975 as a student in a troupe formed by Mehdi Hashemi and Dariush Farhang, appeared in many plays. However, it was her performance in the drama 'Sultan and th ...e Sheppard' (1981) which shot her to fame. She has also tried her hand at directing. The Iranian actress' appearance in 'The Girl With the Blue Scarf' (1994) took a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Supporting Role from the Fajr International Film Festival. She went on to star in other films by Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, including 'The Lady Of Ordibehesht' (1997) and 'Under the Skin of the City' (1999). Her performance in 'Mom's Guest' (2003) secured her a place as a powerful actress in Iran cinema. Golab Adineh has been a candidate of a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role for 'Mom's Guest' and 'While Everyone Was Asleep' (2005).
