This veteran Iranian actor was born in the northern Iranian city of Rasht. He studied Theatre in university and made his film debut in 1982 with the movie “Citizen”. Following his debut, he was immediately cast in two other popular and widely-viewed Iranian period dramas “Mirza Kuchak Khan” and “Sultan and the Shepherded“. Mojallal believes that he was chosen for the role of Mirza in “Mirza Kuchak Khan” because he originates from northern Iran and has a deep connection with th ...e culture and language of the region. His performance in this role not only moved the nation and became etched in their collective memory but also had a great impact on Mojjalal as well. The actor revealed in one interview that Mirza’s role had a great spiritual effect on him and that he still carries Mirza’s ring, prayer breads and seal with him on other works. Mojallal later immigrated to Sweden where he continued his career as a stage actor. He has stated in an interview that he would like to return to Iran and continue his career in his homeland.
