Ahmad Reza Motamedi ( احمدرضا معتمدی ) was born in Tehran in 1961. He holds a PhD, having studied Western philosophy and the Philosophy of Art at the University of Tehran. A member of IRIBU Faculty Board and an essayist, Motamedi began his career in the realm of writing and journalism. From his work on philosophical cinema in TV programs, he became active as a screenwriter. His third film, "The Insane Flew Away" (2003), was the winner of top award in the Fajr International Film Festival. His most recent film is Alzheimer (2011), for which he recieved the Best Screenwriting Award at the 2012 Asia Pacific Film Festival.
