The Gray City is about that Goli Nik-Aein, who’s a TV director, lives in a crowded apartment complex along with her husband, who is a civil engineer. She’s directing a film about the lives ... of orphans, and at the meantime, encounters a mysterious little girl in the orphanage. Goli and her husband’s curiosity in discovering the girl’s secrets leads to a close relationship between them. The little girl affects them in a deep and thought-provoking way. One day she disappears. Goli and her husband’s restless search for the girl leads to discovering new and agonizing secrets; secrets which are interconnected with population growth, poverty, and the clutter of urban community.
