The Ring-Neck ...ed Dove is about that There is an old saying in Farsi, "If you catch a Toughi to keep, it will bring bad omens to the members of the family". ...And that's what happens to a very close nit family when Toghi is caught for keeps. A well-respected uncle plans to marry a young woman who lives in a faraway town. He asks his young nephew to bring the fiancée home to him. On the way back the young people fall in love, get married in secret, and return home with their secret. They're both afraid, to tell the truth to the family. Eventually, the uncle finds out, and to teach both his nephew and his fiancée a lesson he starts a bloody revenge. Strait is about that Naderi's second film is set in the slums of Tehran. Hanging out in a pool hall, Ali Khoshdast becomes involved in a brawl with three brothers, and accidently kills one of them. He runs for his life, eventually taking refuge in the home of a young woman. The victim's brothers continue the chase, and finally close in on him. Following the murder, streets, alleys and houses that were all part of Ali's everyday world suddenly become dangerous and hostile. Although in many ways a classic tale of revenge, Naderi uses this story to imply that an underlying violence pervades society, ready to burst forth with or without justification.
