Zagros is about that Some dam engineers are working on a project to build the third Karoon Dam in Izeh. Nader Keihani, an engineer, is the project leader who has lost his wife and child in a car crash and is now working hard to get his mind off things. Hengameh Zandi is his co-worker and the two were engaged twenty years ago. The story is that Hengameh and Nader happen to meet each other after all these years after each got married and went on with their own lives. Hengameh's daughter is a divorced woman living in Tehran and is now studying at university. Mahsa Bakhtiari is another engineer working at this project. She has lost her husband when he was working at a dam project. Mahsa's uncle, a Bakhtiari Khan, is opposed to the whole project because he believes that dams make many problems for the villagers. However, Mahsa does not agree with her uncle and believes that the project should continue. To activate the dam generators and complete the project, there is the need to hire Mr. Solati who is Hengameh's ex-husband. Keihani, Zandi, Bakhtiari and Solati are made to interact with each other because of the project, and this makes them to form a bond. A bond which results in Hengameh and Solati getting back together. Besides, Mahsa and Nader come to the understanding that they can start a new life together and make a future together.
